SOTÈ candles are unique for a variety of reasons, but most importantly because they are both intention and healing candles. From the design, to the intention and the healing properties that are purposefully part of the experience - it's unique to say the least. As a Certified Holistic Health Practitioner, I've taken elements from many aspects of my studies to build the pinnacle of healing in an accessible fashion. The goal with the healing candles is that they act as a support and somewhat of a conduit to promote self healing. Think of this candle as a guide to help you heal from within, but you’re truly in the driver’s seat of this journey.
So what is a healing candle? Let’s break down the three areas of healing SOTÈ can support you with:
Intentional use of Oils and Aromas - Fragrance oils are plant extracts. They're made by steaming or pressing various parts of a plant (flowers, bark, leaves or fruit) to capture the compounds that produce fragrance. Almost all of SOTÈ candles are now made with homegrown and handmade fragrance oils. This in itself allows us to facilitate an aromatherapy experience that invites healing into each burn. Aromatherapy is the practice of using fragrance and essential oils for therapeutic benefit and has been used for centuries. When inhaled, the scent molecules in the oils travel from the olfactory nerves directly to the brain and especially impact the amygdala, the emotional center of the brain. When a SOTÈ collection is created, the intention or inspiration of the candle is matched with the fragrance to align with that experience in order to achieve high vibrational healing through this process. While there are beautiful candles who's benefit is to simply align with an enjoyable the scent, our candles fragrances are aligned with a specific purpose - healing.

Sealed with Reiki Energy - The Japanese word ‘Reiki’ can be translated as ‘universal life energy’ and the Usui System is a way of working with Reiki for healing of self and others. The word healing is used in the sense of regaining harmony and wholeness. A Reiki practitioner gently moves her hands just above or on the client’s clothed body, helping reduce stress and promote healing by encouraging a healthy flow of energy. It’s important to note that Reiki can be used for physical, emotional and spiritual healing and practitioners are taught how to scan the body and energy fields in order to provide the optimal experience. Reiki therapy is a way of guiding energy throughout the body to promote the recipient’s self-healing abilities.
Each of our intention candles are sealed (or charged) with Reiki energy. The idea of Reiki “Charging” has to do with the transmission of healing or nourishing subtle energies from a person into a thing - usually an object (like our candles), beverage or food. By acknowledging and accepting the energy of our intention candles, you welcome healing energy with each burn.

Crystal Infusion Process - Each of our candles has a crystal specifically placed at the base that is infused during the pour process. The crystal selection is designed to align the intention or inspiration with the healing properties of the corresponding crystal. Each of the crystals are purposefully infused raw, so that the wax and heat not only ignite the crystals properties, but create a tumbled experience. By placing the crystal at the base, it infuses the wax and allows the energy of the crystal to flow up and in almost a circular motion with each light. Once the candle has burned through and you have set your intentions (or called upon the inspiration), you’ll have a 1-2 inch crystal that you can use for meditation, as a palm stone, or to be displayed in a sacred place for you. It allows the intention to live on and the healing to continue even after your candle is finished.
